Gary Toulson

This golf tournament was initiated in 2023 to honor Gary Toulson, Cherokee Country Club’s Golf Pro Emeritus. Gary’s passion for teaching positively impacted generations of families during his 35 years at Cherokee. His dedication and work ethic bolstered his exemplary career, which includes being named Tennessee Teaching Professional of the Year, one of Golf Digest’s Top 200 Golf Teachers in America, Tennessee PGA Player of the Year, and Tennessee PGA President. He won the Tennessee PGA Senior Championship twice, among many other tournament wins and achievements.

In 2006, Gary was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Over the years, this disease has become increasingly debilitating, preventing him from enjoying the fellowship and competitive spirit of his friends and playing the game he truly loves. What now inspires Gary is his ability to help others suffering from Parkinson’s Disease by raising funds to support programs for patients and their caregivers. Please consider supporting the Gary Toulson Pro-Am Invitational Golf Tournament as a player, sponsor, or luncheon attendee. All net proceeds will benefit PJ Parkinson’s Support. Thank you!
